Like weddings? Like skating? Like yellow? Then you are in the right place!
Duncan and Sarah got married at Yorkshire Sculpture Park and their day was a riot of colour, fun, and laughs. We started with Duncan skating and finished with one of the first ever outings for the Curious Portmanteau.
If you like what you see, let me know. Keep checking back for even more weddings from last year and a whole heap of amazing things coming up this year!
It's pretty obvious for all to see that last year I didn't blog much... well this year I want that to change. So, to start the ball rolling, I'm going to go back through the 30+ weddings from last year and share with you some lovely images.
I'm going to start with Chris and Claire.
They got married on my birthday at Walcot Hall and it was riot of vintage loveliness! I'm also reliably informed that the party didn't finish till about 5am!
Anyway, enough waffle.. enjoy the pictures!
Anna and Jon got married between Christmas and New Year and the wedding was a super fun festive barrel of laughs. However back when we had more then 2 hours of sunlight a day we met up in Lickey Hills and had some fun.
Enjoy the pictures and check back soon for the wedding images....
So first of all welcome to the new blog, the website and I guess a whole new Lee Allen Photography!! The new site signals a new era for the business and im glad you have come along for the ride.
So first up on the blog Kevin and Charlotte...
This wedding melted my brain - first up it was at Rudding Park (Rudding Park is sexy FACT) secondly there was two dresses, three ceremonies, two dragon dances and, a whole heap of crazy inbetween. I could witter on but i think I will just let you see some pictures.....
All the best for the future guys your wedding rocked!!
As I am the world's worst blogger, most of you won't know that for the last few months I have been lucky enough to be working on a project with the good people over at Last FM. I have been shooting "pop up" gigs in various cool locations across London featuring some very cool bands.
Last week I shot the last one of the year, and as the band in question are currently rocking my world I figured I would work backwards through the lot of them. So without any more waffle, I give you: We Are Augustines.
If you haven't heard of them yet I guarantee in a few months time they will be everywhere. They play the most impassioned soulful americana-tinged rock you will ever hear.... think the gravelley working-man ethics of Bruce Springsteen, with the sweeping cinematics of Elbow, combined with the lyrical paintings of Bright Eyes and you won't be far off the mark.
Their album "Rise Ye Sunken Ships" is easily in my top 3 albums of the year and is both heartbreaking and strangely uplifting all at the same time - I implore you to get a copy and dive headlong in. It's an old fashioned album that needs to be listened to on headphones while you read the lyrics.
These pictures were all shot in the Book Club in Hoxton when they played an exclusive acoustic performance for Last FM and I would like to thank Billy, Eric and Rob for being so welcoming and downright awesome. See you in February guys.

Thanks for taking the time to look at these....now go buy some music!
I love Neil and Kate! They are soooo Rock n Roll but were super nervous before their pre wed shoot. We didn't stray far from my studio and wandered around the Jewellery Quarter before nipping to the pub for a sly half.
Their wedding was also super fun and will be landing on the blog (hopefully) before Christmas.
Hope you like the pictures....

Oh - I forgot to mention - Neil is pretty tall and Kate is pretty petite....

I know , I know, I never blog! Well hopefully over the next few weeks you will be saying "I wish that Lee Allen blogged less - I'm bored of seeing soooo many amazing pictures."
First up: Meg and Tims pre wedding shoot at Blists Hill . Blists Hill is a museum - but rather than stuffy glass cabinets, it's a living breathing working town! It's very very cool and if you have never been then you are missing out! The original idea was for us to go to a funfair but when contacting various amusement parks we were told a resounding NO. Fortunately for us, Meg and I have a mutual friend who pulled some strings to get us access to Blists Hill's amazing Victorian fun fair.
Right. Enough waffle. Enjoy the pictures and keep your eyes peeled for more....

Thanks for looking.....come back soon!
Mel and Gregors wedding was lovely! You know that feeling warm feeling you get on Christmas Day when you are surrounded by all your family and everyone is smiling with contentment....that was their wedding!
From the the slow gentle morning applying make up in the baby changing room through to frantic ceilidh Heaton House Farm rocked with laughter....thanks

All the best for the future guys......YOU ROCK!!
I knew Melissa and Gregor were going to be super fun when I first met them and I wasn't wrong. They got married at Heaton house Farm (an always awesome venue) and had my first ever ceilidh. Before their big day we met up in a very very cold Manchester and had some fun in dark.

Check back for their amazing wedding really soon.....
This is a first for me not only is this my second blog of the day but its wedding I shot on Saturday. Kate and Benny are going to France for a month and as they are good friends I told them I would post a small selection of the pictures so they could have a taster before they went away.
They were married in Tettenhall and then went to Blithfield Lakeside Barns in Rugley for a splendid reception in a marquee that featured amazing handmade decorations (Kate is an illustrator), awesome food and even better company.
I think I think I have waffled on enough enjoy the pictures.....

Thanks for having me at your amazing day - have the best time cycling around France for the next month.
See when you get back.
Kate and Benny got married this weekend (blog coming soon) and their wedding was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. To be fair their pre wed was pretty sweet as well. Super simple set up on all the pictures so I'm going to shut up and let you enjoy these beauties;)

Keep checking for the amazing wedding coming really soon.....
I first met Kate when I photographed her sisters wedding a few years back and was really excited to go down to London to hang out with her and her future husband Mark. They are both architects and in live in a super cool flat they are currently remodeling. I travelled down South in the sunshine with awesome videographer Simon Clarke (more on that dude in a bit) and wandered around snapping and laughing.

As I mentioned I was there with Simon Clarke. If you havent seen Simons work then you really need to check him out (click his name....its link to his site:) as he is super talented and was with me to film a pre wedding video ahead of covering their wedding. Scroll down to see some pictures of him working and then the funky video he produced.

Check back soon to see there STUNNING wedding featuring a Vivienne Westwood dress, a big red bus and, more kilts than a highland games.
When I did Becky and Daves pre wed shoot it a cold but gloriously sunny day.
On the morning of their wedding Yorkshire awoke to and an inch of snow. This was followed by rain, sleet, more snow and then thick fog!!! As a wedding photographer this was by far the most challenging weather I have ever faced but thanks to Becky and Daves great fun loving attitude and their amazing guest I still came away with some pretty cool images.
Oh it also helps that Waterton Park Hotel is pretty epic!

Check out this little dude...

The amazing bridesmaids....

Dancing bridesmaids FTW!!!

If there is a murder mystery party in the same hotel it would be rude not to "borrow" their machine guns.

There were some serious dance moves bust out!!

Thanks for having me at your amazing wedding guys....All the best for the future.
You may remember Zoe and Daves pre wed shoot I blogged a while back well they are now happily married. On the day of the wedding it was VERY wet and VERY cold but we still managed to come away with some super cool alternative images.
Oh also you need to know that Zoe and Dave have between them the driest sense of humour EVER and an aversion to smiling. This will become apparant later in the blog.

The reception was at Belle Epoque and the dining room looked stunning as did all the handmade goodies.

For favours Zoe and Dave chose books for each person there....amazing personal touch.

As I said before Zoe and Dave aren't big smilers so we went for a Victorian stoic look for some of their portraits.

First dance romance....

The boys....gotta love the lipstick on the collar

The party rampaged long into the night with a few people feeling a tad rough the next day by all accounts.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and keep your eyes peeled for the cherish the dress shoot that I will be doing with Zoe soon.
Becky and Dave are getting married in a few weeks at Waterton Hall in Wakefield. We got together last week to get some images of them in the amazing Yorkshire sun and to talk about their wedding plans.
I think its going to be an amazing wedding with a great couple in a new venue for me.

Cant wait for the wedding...check the blog in a few weeks to some images from the big day.
Last year I was the worst blogger in the world and didn't blog sooooo many shoots. This year Im going to try and blog EVERY wedding and pre wed shoot. So lets start at the start for 2011....
Zoe and Dave get married in a few weeks and just before Christmas we met up in the snow to grab some images.

Heres to awesome 2011!!
A few months ago I posted part one of my New York City blog and then Christmas and weddings got in the way of me posting more. Now like a phoenix from the flames part two has arrived.
All these pictures are available as limited edition prints. Please feel free to contact me for prices.
There is nowhere "cooler" than Williamsburg.
We stayed in Long Island City and came across the old docks which have now been turned into amazing park.
You know that mobsters use this place to dispose of their enemies.
Even bridges are cooler in NYC.
Yeah that woman.
Central Park in late Autumn is an explosion of colours.
Top of the Rockefeller, add a touch of mist and ta da Bladerunner.
The Museum of Modern Art is an amazing building, full of incredible art and the rudest tourists in the world
Times Square is always awe inspiring.
Washington Square Park
Coney Island at Halloween is amazing. Its rundown, sexy and very intoxicating.
I wish that the Cyclone had been open.
I love Nathans....
...and so does this little fella.
Sunsets on the boardwalk are sweeeeeet
Luna park opens for a few nights over Halloween and all the staff dress up and try their best to scare you. When there is only two of you in an empty amusement park with 20 people like this its not hard.
Nathans by night.
Greenwich Village has its own 24hr chess shop
The Flatiron building
Flatiron building = dorky photographer = BOOOOOM
This Christmas me and the better half packed the car and headed North to spend New Years Eve on the Isle of Skye for a week of relaxation and over indulgence.... due to things beyond our control (a broken boiler and a smashed windscreen) it never really happened and we came home early. Despite only being there for a few days I still managed to fire off a couple of shots. Hope you like them...

Frozen lochs FTW

This year Im considering selling a limited amount of prints of my personal work. If you think it might be something you would be interested in then please let me know so I have no idea if anyone would be interested.
Tom and Laura were my last wedding couple of 2010 and oh boy was their wedding special... That's coming to the blog really soon so in the meantime here is their super snowy pre wed shoot that we shot in Leeds. Oh and by the way the little fella is called Bananas and yes he really is that cute:)

Check back next week for their uber wedding.....
This wedding is a bit special as Dale has become a very good friend since I first met him when I was covering the wedding of Jo and Hadde. I was there to document the day he proposed to Amy, he came to photograph me when I nearly killed myself running 10k for charity, and most importantly we play waaaayyyy too much Call of Duty with each other. So to be honest I was filled with a mixture of nerves and pride when he asked me to cover his wedding, but I didn't need to worry as the day was pretty much as perfect as any couple could hope for (..aside from a broken collar bone).
We started in York for a wander around with the boys....

Dale LOVE Street Fighter so wanted some Street Fighteresq pictures:)

After the craziness of York it was nice to get back to the serenity of the girls getting ready at Ripon Spa Hotel

Jewelery from the always amazing ChezBec

Then it was over to the stunning Fountains Abbey. If you have never been - it is STUNNING and there were acres and acres of grounds that we didnt have time to even get to on the day.

Cutting the cake....

First dance....

Not the greatest picture in the world but I LOVE Dale's happy face...

This is one of the few pictures I can reveal from the evening celebrations as it went off!!!

Thanks for having me at your amazing wedding .... YOU GUYS ROCK!
